Speaker Announcement! Myles Edwards

We are very lucky to have Myles Edwards from the Gathimba Edwards Foundation officially joining us as one of our featured speakers at the TEDxYouth@ISA conference on Saturday 18th March 2017!

His talk topic is "Running With Your Dreams", and as the 2015 Scottish 1500m Champion and Founder of the Gathimba Edwards Foundation, Myles has been on an incredibly successful and inspiring journey.

Myles is the founder of the Aberdeen based charity Gathimba Edwards Foundation which supports disadvantaged children in Kenya. The foundation provides education, clothing and shelter for 243 children across different parts of the country and also been able to extend its support to 2 Scottish children through its Neil Jaffrey Local Child In Need Award. Since the charity was founded in May 2014, GEF have built 15 new houses for 66 children, raised £500,000 and over 100 volunteers have travelled out to Kenya with them to work on a variety of projects.

He was born in Aberdeen and went to Mile End Primary School and Aberdeen Grammar Secondary School before going on to study Journalism at Edinburgh Napier University. On top of that, he is a Scottish International middle distance runner and double Scottish 1,500m champion (indoor and outdoor) from 2015.
